It was a magical evening to remember at La Residencia, Deia as the Hotel and invited guests gave their support to the hotel’s annual charity concert on Thursday 8thJuly. What an evening with the concert held on the magnificent manicured front lawn of the hotel as the night air stilled and guests arrived for an evening of magical notes. All was in aid of the Mallorca Preservation Foundation created in 2017 with the aim of conserving the beauty and environmental quality of this unique island. A worthy cause to support, I am sure you will all agree.
The guests made a donation upon arrival and the hotel will double the 765 euros raised. In all 1530 euros will be given to the Foundation gratefully received by Hans Lenz, Chairman of the Foundation and Advisory Council member Mariana Chacon who both attended and provided an insight of the vision through the Foundation’s promotional information. The Hotel General Manager Thomas Moons and Alicia Polo of Lux Golf were all welcomed before the concert began as photos were taken and the evening of music commenced.
The hotel gardens and flowers made for a perfect and beautiful setting in itself as the so talented and smiling pianist Antonio Artese from Italy was presented to his audience by the Music Festival of Deia’s Director ,Alfredo Oyaguez. I am sure Antonio’s smile in the days to come was even wider following the football!!!!
The Steinway piano shone in the sunset light darkening as the evening progressed as Antonio stroked the keys of this masterpiece of creation. Antonio played some of his own works of the evening’s programme “My Latin Heart” a homage to chick Korea and Astor Piazolla, a fusion of Tango and Jazz. Throughout the spellbinding concert Antonio gave a short insight to the pieces and each piece was played with such emotion of which I have never encountered before.
The notes and music flowed as Antonio stroked those keys, his body interwoven with the music from the Steinway. His head low to some of the music played and then straightening as the music gathered speed and intensity. It was indeed an evening of magical notes with the guests enjoying drinks from the outside bar, chatting and once again the organisation of the event by Alfredo and Hanna Bornebusch could not be faulted. All for the support of such a worthy Foundation.
All music lovers should check out future events on the website of the XL111 Festival of International Music in Deia and do visit www.mallorcapreservation.org for more information on the Foundation.
