Celebrity goes purple. Well for one night only… Celebrity Magazine was delighted to be a supporter of what was an amazing birthday party. Indeed, it was more than that. It was an event and all agreed, even one of the major event companies on the island that this party event was the most unique and exciting event that they had been part of organising. The renowned Company organises major events throughout the year and also creates the ice rink next to the station at Plaza Espana for Christmas.
I was delighted that my good friend Massimo invited me to his special 50th birthday party and that Celebrity magazine had the exclusivity to bring all our readers to this party of all parties and to share that experience with you. What can I say? I hope I can bring you into the atmosphere of this party. It took months to arrange and through myself, friends and contacts we created something that was completely out of the ordinary which all guests, some 130 will never forget. The afternoon and evening will remain in their memories for sure.
It was a few weeks back and sadly the day was one of the coldest of the year. It had no effect, as the warmth of the guests, the entertainment and the food together with the venue location brought laughter and smiles to all. What cold could impact upon this one-off occasion. Massimo, I would say had the Oscars in mind, designing a large sponsoring wall that was made and sent from Madrid upon which the organiser’s names and Celebrity magazine was printed. A great idea as all guests arriving walked the purple carpet and had their photos taken in front of the wall. Another memory to take home. Why the “Purple” Experience name one would ask? Well, all the guests had to wear purple as Massimo had met the famous singer ”Prince” and was himself in a successful boy band. Who can forget the song” Purple Rain” This was the theme as part of the party was a 60-minute tribute to the songs of ”Prince” sung by Massimo who wowed his friends and amazingly he changed costumes and hair at least 3 times during his performance. A live band played, with some musical friends from all over Europe as his backing singers and dancers, one a supermodel friend from Brazil and the guitarist Simon Eichinger (Simon won the international guitarist solo Contest in 2020) and is one of the most famous guitar players from Austria and could he play. YES! Not only that the decorations around the venue were magical and had taken days to construct and oh to add to the evening, fireworks also lit up the sky. Hollywood came to Mallorca for this special afternoon and evening. Not only that the well-known local caricaturist Olga Jimenez Guerrero was at hand to bring more smiles to guests with her drawings of yourself. Again something different at a party.
Massimo born in Sicily, lives between Germany, the United States and Spain and is now spending more time here with his American husband Kem a fashion designer with his new label shortly to be released here. Massimo invited his family and 130 guests flew in from the USA, UK, South America and Europe. 28 Nationalities. A true mixture of friends and all held at the Ses Voltes rented for 7 days so family members could stay there but that was not all. Massimo also rented 45 rooms at Hotel Iberostar and Hipocampo Playa in Cala Millor for his overseas guests. The hotels were delighted and supporting local businesses is one of Massimo’s goals. The food was delicious as again it was different. A local Company provided 2 food trucks serving both Asian food, and the other American delights. Also, pizzas were served and created by another friend Mikko, Finnish and a Michelin star chef who made an exception and created pizzas for the evening. Not the usual creative dishes that she normally serves! Dancing the afternoon and evening away was to the music of another 2 local DJs Pedro Garrido and DJ Mike so those calories were burned off quickly.
The cold was forgotten and for some hours my good friend Andre Cretian who has been featured in Celebrity Magazine being one of the top 3 strolling close-up magicians in Europe circulated amongst the guests. They could not believe what they were seeing. Andre’s magic tricks are not to be missed. Do look out for Andre as he is now starting to perform evenings at quality venues in quality
Palma, restaurants, cocktail bars and yes he is available for your private party. The guests were enchanted and wanted more. How he does these magical tricks is beyond belief.
An Experience. A ‘‘Purple” one as Massimo performed and his character, costumes, creating a ”Prince” act, his singing and presence even led to another friend in the local music industry offering him a contract but he is working on his new businesses, Exclusive travel packages to Mallorca for the high-end market for visitors primarily from the USA but Worldwide who now know Mallorca offers so much. Massimo has 25 years of experience in this field so watch this space and soon another venture. The opening of a new unique restaurant in Palma. Celebrity magazine has once again been invited to be the special guest for the coverage of the opening evening. One that I know will be different and with selective guests invited.
So a party, an event, all rolled into one and all filmed by ”Moony Productions” who also brought a drone along for overhead filming. A local company involved in Hollywood movies and friends of Massimo as were the other 2 professional photographers covering the party and taking photos of the guests at the ”Oscar” photo backdrop. It was a party, but with a difference and for me the support for local businesses was wonderful and will continue and grow through Massimo. So you see Mallorca with the right people can create something special for all. I am confident that this diverse island and Celebrity magazine will bring much more to all visitors and our readers as time goes by.
