Lights up in Mallorca – AMOK let it shine

Last year, Mallorca got a touch of Ibiza vibe. The “Amok” club opened its doors and is a dazzling sight, boasting a huge indoor and outdoor arena. The interior is stylishly decorated with ornaments. A large dance floor and a second-floor grandstand offer a bird’s-eye view of the action. Behind the DJ booth is the VIP area. All in all, a fantastic creation. In the summer, a beach club with a swimming pool will be added. More than 30,000 square meters of pure enjoyment – it could become one of the biggest clubs in the Mediterranean.

No wonder, as one of the club’s operators contributed his musical expertise: British singer and businessman Recardo Patrick is the mastermind behind the new club and has previously shared the stage with Whitney Houston and others. Now, let’s get to the main event: the fabulous light show. Brilliant – inspiring and surprising at the same time. Even Ibiza doesn’t do it better.

Let’s stick with the topic of light – just as music can influence our mood, so too can light. Create accents in your home that reflect your personal taste and sense of well-being.

As scientists have demonstrated, human well-being depends, among other things, on the amount of daylight we receive. This is easily observed from spring to autumn, when the days are long, the sun shines abundantly, and life satisfaction increases. When winter arrives, everything changes. It’s worth noting that not only natural light has a significant impact on our well-being, but also the artificial lighting we are exposed to.

Did you know that…

Light stimulates the production of serotonin, the happiness hormone, and melatonin, which regulates sleep and wakefulness. Reduced light, on the other hand, causes fluctuations in cortisol levels, the stress hormone – which makes people feel sleepy. These aren’t the only aspects influenced by light. It also supports your metabolism, helps you maintain a healthy weight, and keeps your eyes healthy. When selecting lighting, the color temperature (expressed in Kelvin) should be the decisive parameter:

Cool white (CW, 5000-6500 Kelvin) has a stimulating effect and promotes concentration.

Neutral white (NW, 3500-4500 Kelvin) is an intermediate color that corresponds to the light of afternoon in nature. It has a neutral effect on people.

Warm white (WW, 2700-3300 Kelvin) is a relaxing and restorative light color that occurs in nature at sunrise and sunset. When selecting lighting, the color temperature (expressed in Kelvin) should be the decisive parameter:

I hope you now have a clearer understanding of light. Have a bright new year.
