ENCHANTING MUSICAL EVENINGS FOR SEPTEMBER

The season slowly draws to an end as families on holiday return to their homelands and the island begins to welcome less tourists and the beaches and roads are once again less busy. Time to reflect on the season but this wonderful island will continue to draw many for what is normally a warm September and October. The events never cease and we look forward to sunny but not overpowering days in the sunshine although maybe an umbrella is worthwhile taking with you.

As our readers both regular and new will see Celebrity Magazine brings everyone news, interviews and reports on events that have just passed and ones to come. Celebrity Mallorca is proud to support and bring you updates on the many events taking place and we often say that Mallorca is an island of culture and that is so true. We support the local culture and all those that spend so much time and effort is organising wonderful events and music concerts for all of us to enjoy.

For some years I have had the pleasure of attending many classic music events here and I am pleased to say that the Deia International Music Festival XLVI is one of the most prestigious and long running concert festivals and is still continuing with three concerts this month and the final two in October upon which I will bring you details in the weeks ahead. An amazing Festival bringing wonderful music and artists not only local to the island but from around the World. A truly international festival so thanks goes out to all supporters and sponsors but in particular to it’s artistic Director and main organiser each year Alfredo Oyaguez. Alfredo himself a Professor at the Conservatory Superior of music of the Balearics is a master of piano, conductor and his time in organising the Festival cannot be underestimated. So do attend one or more of the September concerts. You will not be disappointed and you will without doubt have a relaxing experience listening to some of the best in the world of classical music.

As mentioned there are three concerts this month all being held at memorable venues. The first is taking place on the 18th September at 20.30 at the beautiful Son Marroig. The Festival welcomes Italian Christiana Coppola playing the violonchelo accompanied by the Italian piano player Ludovica De Bernardo. An excellent programme for the evening including Chopin but please visit the Festival website for all details on each of these concerts and to reserve your tickets.

If you are unable to attend on the 18th September then on the 20th September you can enjoy the drive to the magical Hotel Sa Bassa Rotja which hosts another concert by Christiana and Ludovica again starting at 20.30 who will be playing Obras de Chopin, Beethoven and Myaskowsky. An evening to remember in surroundings that are perfect for the concert.

Finally in September the concert series returns to Son Marroig on the 25th September at 20.30 where the most talented Paul Lecocq from France will entertain you on the piano with pieces from Beethoven. Schumann and much more. The views from Son Marroig are breathtaking and the concert hall for the concert takes you through rooms showing the history of the iconic building into the concert hall again perfect for the concert. So September brings options and to find out full details of each concert, the programme and ticket purchase then do please visit the festival website at www.dimfentradas.com.
