Mallorca named top “post-lockdown” holiday destination

Mallorca is proving popular with British holidaymakers looking to get away post-lockdown.

Many of us are dreaming of summer holidays after spending so much time inside during the lockdown but with travel guidelines still unclear, it may be some time until this dream becomes a reality.

Fortunately for us here in Mallorca, we have all of the benefits of a summer holiday on our doorstep and it appears that many Brits are desperate for a slice of our paradise. Loveholidays have analysed their online reservation data and, of the 850,000 bookings they have received for post-lockdown holidays, our beautiful island came out on top. Holidays to Mallorca were most popular with couples with 6.9% making bookings and 6.4% of solo travellers.

The island is also popular with group bookings with 10% of people travelling in groups choosing Mallorca as their preferred destination. With borders set to open on July 1st, it is going to be interesting to see how the demographic of the tourists change from previous years and we hope that measures are put in place to keep everyone safe.
