THE MUSIC FLOWS

This season the music is flowing all around the island as you will hear and read about. Famous artists are performing and many local music festivals are taking place and local artists are also performing through their concerts over the days, weeks and months to come. As I mentioned in my recent article Mallorca is “The Island of Music” and long may that continue and grow as more visitors and locals see what is on offer. The Deia International Music Festival XLVI is one to check out as there is something for all.

Sadly, so far this season I have not been able to attend concerts that I wished to be part of and to report upon but hopefully, this will change and I can bring you into the evening concert atmosphere and enjoyment of the audience and the amazing talent of the musicians. They all love their music and many Worldwide famous artists are now realising that Mallorca is a location that should be on their tour schedule. I am sure more will come and perform plus take some days and time out to explore not only Palma but the island, so diverse and so wonderful. The word is out as we are seeing.

With its scenery, fabulous beaches, crystal clear sea and an amazing choice of hotels, bars and restaurants to suit all with friendly welcoming people of the island what is there not to like? Local talent is everywhere and we welcome some big names this year for their concerts which I am sure many of our readers will attend. I, for one, enjoy all kinds of music. Still, sometimes you cannot compete with an evening of classical music, relaxation and the opportunity to put any problems behind you. A classical music concert is one to savour and enjoy.

Celebrity Mallorca magazine brings all our readers details and reports of many concerts and is delighted to continue to be supportive of The Deia International Music Festival XLVI edition which has grown over the years thanks to the hard work of its Director Alfredo Oyaguez Montero and his team bringing an exciting schedule of concerts in beautiful venues. There are many that you will wish to attend, so I aim to bring details of some of those taking place this month of July at Mirador Cementerio de Deia. The venue location map is below. All details and ticket bookings and of course the full festival schedule can be found on www.dimfentradas.com so please visit the site for more information.

Three concerts are coming shortly with Enrique Pastor & Co who I have seen before. It is an evening to remember and their music flows through jazz and folk, their unique style and connection with the audience is magical. Their concert is on Tuesday, July 23rd followed by the superb pianist Richard Vinton a must for all who love piano jazz who performs on Thursday 25th July. If that’s not all then come along on Saturday 27th July to enjoy the music of the group Maag who will, without doubt, have you singing and standing as this group plays your favourite pop and rock songs of the magical 60’s taking in the Beatles, Eagles, Police, Van Morrison, Oasis, Robbie Williams and more. All concerts begin at 21.00.

So a few ideas for the next week and Celebrity Magazine shall certainly bring you more details of what is to come. So check out the festival’s website, get your tickets and don’t miss out.
